Tips for Learning a Foreign Language

Even though I am a native born American, I have learned to speak two languages fluently. Aside from learning the language myself, I have been teaching foreign language for almost 10 years now, and I have learned a lot about what it takes to learn a language. I have made a list of tips that I believe will speed up your learning of a foreign language. Any one of these tips may be more important for you than others in your quest to learn a foreign language. Pick those two or three tips that you feel most comfortable working with.

I have divided the tips into three basic categories:

1)Tips regarding the structure of a language 2)Tips about learning strategies 3) Tips about materials and strategies. I have also included links for materials, language acquisition theory and lesson plans. I have also started a blog with personal insights into the process of education.
